I don't know if it's helpful to bring this up, but the scientific theory about sleep paralysis is that it's something that happens when we dream so that we don't act out our dreams. The paralysis can occassionally take a bit of time to go away if we wake suddenly. Totally possible there's a different cause for you,(perhaps spirits can take advantage of the bodily function that causes it?) just thought I'd throw that out there.
